Torquay like Rome was built on seven hills. The Link and the White House are situated up one of those hills and occupy a sloping site. Cary Court is a period property with later more modern extensions,

The White House and The Link are one of the more modern extensions. The White House & The Link guests are welcome to share the garden year round from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm. and pool (seasonal) please enquire at time of booking. Access is gained either via the main House or via a side gate to the garden. There are many “spiky” plants in the garden that may cause injury. As well as the outdoor pool there is a pond, when wet, boardwalks and decking may be hazardous to the unwary and or Children.

A welcome pack is provided for self catering guests.

We do not allow pets of any kind at either the White House or the Link. Children are welcome in  the White House and the Link, but must be kept under supervision at all times, especially when using the garden and/ or pool

There are outside security lights that automatically turn on and off.

Main Entrance at The White House.

Three steps up to the Entrance door. Entrance dining hall with kitchen are all level and open plan. There are doors to the sitting room and rear hall with further door with step from the rear hall to the rear yard. From the rear hall there is a winding staircase with twelve steps rising to the first floor landing and bedrooms.

Public Areas – (general Information)

There are no lifts in the White House. To the ground floor is wall to wall laminate flooring with the exception of the sitting room where there is a rug. To the stairs and first floor coverings are to close cover. Bathroom floors are hard ceramic tiled. Bathrooms have conventional W.C.s and wash hand basins. Bathrooms are fitted with step in Shower cubicles.

Dining Area and sitting room

The dining room is on the ground floor. Lighting is uniform with strategically place ceiling light fittings as well as side lamps in the sitting room.


There is a fully fitted, well equipped kitchen in the White House including wall and base units with tiled splash backs, there is double bowl sink with mixer tap, a fridge freezer, oven, hob, cooker-hood, dish washer, washer dryer, microwave and toaster. There is cutlery, crockery, glass ware as well as pots, pans and other miscellaneous cookery utensils.

Bar-b-que area

To the rear of the White House is a graveled yard, table and chairs for the use of White House guests only There is a gas fired bar-b-que, guests are advised to exercise caution when using the bar-b-que to avoid damage and injury to themselves and/or others.


There is no life guard on duty. Guests are advised to read the notices published in the bedroom browsers as well as those posted close to the facility. There is an emergency bell close to the pool.


Guests are welcome to use the Veranda and garden, but are reminded the wooden surfaces are very slippery when wet, there are many steps, water hazards as well as exotic trees and plants which may be “spiky” and can cause injury.


There is no shop at the Guest House. Nor at the White House.

Treatment rooms.

There are no treatment rooms at the property. Guests who wish to use the pool are advised to read the notices published in the bedroom browsers with regard to availability times and safety as well as the notices posted near to the respective facility. Guests are advised to consult with a qualified Doctor before using these facilities or taking strenuous exercise.

Conference rooms, club rooms, entertainment

There are no such facilities at the guest house.

We cater for the able bodied at Cary Court Guest House and the White House. We are pleased to welcome those with physical challenges. We cannot guess anybody’s physical condition and whilst we try to cater for all at all times, if a guest has a physical disability we believe it is their responsibility to draw that disability to our attention so that we are better able to help them enjoy their stay with us
